Convert PNG to WebP

Convert PNG to WebP to reduce the file size. Convert many at once, and nothing is uploaded to an outside server.

or drop them here

Files are processed on your device and never sent to an outside server.

How to use

  1. Click “Choose files” or drop your PNG files onto the box. You can add several files at once.
  2. Each file is automatically converted to WebP on your device as soon as it is added. Download them one by one, or all together as a ZIP file.

Frequently asked questions

How much smaller do screenshots and graphics get?

With the default Lossless setting, every pixel stays exactly as in the PNG, and screenshots, diagrams and logos often come out at half the size or less. Transparent backgrounds are kept.

When should I choose High, Medium or Low instead of Lossless?

For photos saved as PNG. Lossless keeps every pixel, so a photo stays large; High gives a much smaller file that looks nearly the same, and Low the smallest. For text and sharp lines, keep Lossless: lossy WebP can blur them slightly.

How many files can I convert at once?

The site sets no limit on the number of files, but how many you can convert depends on your device's memory and speed. Files are processed one at a time and stay in your device's memory until you download them. Large batches or very large images may fail, especially on phones. If that happens, convert them in smaller groups.

Is the image file information kept?

No. Converting to WebP converts only the image: information such as the date, camera equipment and location is not carried over to the new file.

Are my files uploaded to an outside server?

No. Everything runs in your browser, so your files never leave your device. The page only downloads the tool's own code when you add the first file.
