How to use

Frequently asked questions

How do I change the order of the files?

The files are joined from the top of the list down, and each keeps its own page order. Drag a file by its thumbnail, or move it with the up and down arrows, then press “Merge PDFs” again.

Are bookmarks, links and form fields kept?

Links to websites and links between pages of the same file are kept, and so are fillable form fields with what was typed in them. Bookmarks are not carried over, and neither are the original files’ title and author.

Can I merge confidential documents?

Yes. Your browser reads the PDFs and joins them on your device. Neither the files nor the merged PDF are uploaded, so contracts, invoices and other confidential documents stay on your device.

Can I merge password-protected PDFs?

No. PDFs with a password are not supported, including those that only restrict printing or copying: rewriting them would remove the protection. Remove the password in your PDF app first, then merge that copy.

Are my files uploaded to an outside server?

No. Everything runs in your browser, so your files never leave your device. The page only downloads the tool's own code when you add the first file.
