How to use
- Choose the image quality: High keeps the images close to the original, Low makes the file smallest.
- Click “Choose files” or drop your PDFs onto the box.
- Each PDF is compressed on your device. Download them one by one, or all together as a ZIP file.
Frequently asked questions
Which PDFs get smaller?
PDFs made of scans or photos usually get much smaller, because the images inside them hold more detail than a screen needs. PDFs of text only and black-and-white scans change little: text and drawings are already compact, and black-and-white images are kept as they are. If a PDF cannot be made smaller, you get the original back.
Can I still select and search the text?
Yes. Only the images inside the PDF are written again. Text, drawings, links, bookmarks and form fields are left as they are, so the text stays sharp, selectable and searchable.
Can I compress confidential documents?
Yes. Your browser reads the PDF and writes the smaller copy on your device. Neither file is uploaded, so contracts, invoices and other confidential documents stay on your device.
Can I compress a password-protected PDF?
No. PDFs with a password are not supported, including those that only restrict printing or copying: rewriting them would remove the protection. Remove the password in your PDF app first, then compress that copy.
Are my files uploaded to an outside server?
No. Everything runs in your browser, so your files never leave your device. The page only downloads the tool's own code when you add the first file.
