- Each file is converted to PNG on your device as soon as it is added. Download them one by one, or all together as a ZIP file.
Frequently asked questions
Why is the PNG so much larger?
PNG stores every pixel without loss, while AVIF is compressed. The PNG keeps exactly what the AVIF shows, so it is often several times larger.
Is transparency kept?
Yes. PNG supports transparency, so transparent areas stay as they are.
How many files can I convert?
There is no limit on the number of files. Files are converted one at a time, so a large batch simply takes longer. Very large images, such as 48-megapixel photos, may fail on phones with little memory; a computer handles them.
Is the photo information kept?
No. Converting to PNG copies the picture but not the photo information: the date, camera and location are not written into the new file.
Are my files uploaded?
No. Everything runs in your browser, so your files never leave your device. The page only downloads the tool's own code when you add the first file.
