Convert HEIC to PNG

Convert HEIC image files taken on an iPhone or similar into PNG. Nothing is uploaded to an outside server.

or drop them here

Files are processed on your device and never sent to an outside server.

How to use

  1. Click “Choose files” or drop your HEIC files onto the box. You can add several files at once.
  2. Each file is automatically converted to PNG on your device as soon as it is added. Download them one by one, or all together as a ZIP file.

Frequently asked questions

Why is the PNG so much larger than the HEIC or a JPG?

PNG stores every pixel without loss, while HEIC and JPG are compressed. A 12-megapixel photo often takes more than 10 MB as PNG, several times the HEIC. Choose PNG when you will edit the image further and want no more quality loss; to share or keep photos, HEIC to JPG gives a much smaller file.

Is transparency kept?

Yes. If the HEIC has transparent areas, the PNG keeps them as they are. JPG has no transparency and turns those areas white, so convert such images to PNG.

How many files can I convert at once?

The site sets no limit on the number of files, but how many you can convert depends on your device's memory and speed. Files are processed one at a time and stay in your device's memory until you download them. Large batches or very large images may fail, especially on phones. If that happens, convert them in smaller groups.

Is the image file information kept?

No. Converting to PNG converts only the image: information such as the date, camera equipment and location is not carried over to the new file.

Are my files uploaded to an outside server?

No. Everything runs in your browser, so your files never leave your device. The page only downloads the tool's own code when you add the first file.
