How to use
- Click “Choose files” or drop your JPG files onto the box. You can add several files at once.
- Each file is automatically converted to WebP on your device as soon as it is added. Download them one by one, or all together as a ZIP file.
Frequently asked questions
Will WebP make my website load faster?
Usually, yes. Images are often the largest part of a web page, and a WebP is often a quarter to a third smaller than the JPG at a similar look, so pages download faster. Every current browser, including Safari on iPhone, shows WebP.
What if an app cannot open WebP?
Some older software, photo printing services and upload forms still accept only JPG. Keep your original JPG for those, or convert back with WebP to JPG.
How many files can I convert at once?
The site sets no limit on the number of files, but how many you can convert depends on your device's memory and speed. Files are processed one at a time and stay in your device's memory until you download them. Large batches or very large images may fail, especially on phones. If that happens, convert them in smaller groups.
Is the image file information kept?
No. Converting to WebP converts only the image: information such as the date, camera equipment and location is not carried over to the new file.
Are my files uploaded to an outside server?
No. Everything runs in your browser, so your files never leave your device. The page only downloads the tool's own code when you add the first file.
