How to use
- Click “Choose files” or drop your HEIC files onto the box. You can add several files at once.
- Each file is automatically converted to WebP on your device as soon as it is added. Download them one by one, or all together as a ZIP file.
Frequently asked questions
Why convert HEIC to WebP rather than JPG?
WebP is made for the web: every current browser shows it, and a photo is often about a third of the JPG's size at a similar look. Choose WebP to put photos on a website or blog, and JPG when the file has to open in every app.
Will every app open the WebP?
Browsers and many recent apps do, but some older software and some upload forms do not accept WebP. If an app cannot open it, use HEIC to JPG instead.
How many files can I convert at once?
The site sets no limit on the number of files, but how many you can convert depends on your device's memory and speed. Files are processed one at a time and stay in your device's memory until you download them. Large batches or very large images may fail, especially on phones. If that happens, convert them in smaller groups.
Is the image file information kept?
No. Converting to WebP converts only the image: information such as the date, camera equipment and location is not carried over to the new file.
Are my files uploaded to an outside server?
No. Everything runs in your browser, so your files never leave your device. The page only downloads the tool's own code when you add the first file.
